Power and Performance

The base model of the i5 features a 335-horsepower configuration with rear-wheel drive. You can also step up to the new-for-2025 389-hp version, which incorporates all-wheel drive, or to a high-performance version that gets you to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds. This model delivers 593 hp and 596 pound-feet of torque and adds M Sport brakes, adaptive suspension, an aerodynamic body kit, and 19-inch wheels with summer tires.

All powertrains feature adjustable driving modes you can customize to your preferences. Depending on the trim, the i5 gives you 270 to 295 miles of range on a full battery. You can boost the vehicle by up to 100 miles of range with just 10 minutes on a DC fast charger. Add the Dynamic Handling package for M Sport suspension and active roll stabilization with any powertrain.

Interior Space and Amenities

The i5 gives you generous trunk space of more than 17 cubic feet. The interior showcases premium materials with a standard anthracite headliner, high-gloss oak trim, and perforated Veganza vegan leather upholstery.

You’ll also have a universal garage door opener, a power moonroof, heated front seats, keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, and ambient interior lighting. Upgrade the cabin with the optional Sky Lounge Panoramic Roof, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, power rear sunshade and side window shades, an interior camera, and sleek glass dashboard controls.

Infotainment Tech

Enjoy the latest tech in the i5 through the BMW Curved Display pairing a 14.9-inch central information display and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster display. You’ll have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity.

Every trim also features a standard Harman Kardon sound system with satellite radio or an optional Bowers & Wilkens surround-sound system. An available Air Console feature lets you play video games or watch YouTube when the i5 is parked. You can also add Natural Interaction voice and gesture commands.

Every trim comes with the latest safety tech such as lane departure warning and active blind spot detection.
