The 2025 BMW i4 represents a midlife cycle refresh of BMW's electric Gran Coupe, blending performance, luxury, and sustainable mobility. Building upon BMW's legacy of creating refined, fun-to-drive vehicles, this updated model offers three trims: the i4 eDrive40, i4 xDrive40, and i4 M50.
Trim Levels
The 2025 BMW i4 features refreshed styling across all three trims, now boasting narrower headlights with new lighting signatures and a redesigned BMW kidney grille with active air flaps and a new mesh pattern. The i4 eDrive40 and xDrive40 come standard with 18-inch aerodynamic wheels and run-flat tires, while the M50 rides on 19-inch M bicolor wheels. The M50 adds larger air intakes, gloss black accents, and an M-specific rear spoiler. New paint options include Cape York Green and Fire Red metallic. Optional 20-inch alloy wheels and Laserlight headlights and taillights are available across the range.
Engine
The i4 eDrive40 features a single-motor rear-wheel drive system producing 335 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The i4 xDrive40 steps up to a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup with 396 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. The range-topping M50 delivers 536 horsepower and 586 pound-feet of torque in boost mode through its dual-motor all-wheel drive system. All models feature an 81.5 kWh battery and support DC fast charging at rates up to 200 kW, enabling approximately 90 miles of range in 10 minutes under ideal conditions.
Performance
The i4 eDrive40 has a 0-to-60 mph sprint time of 5.5 seconds and delivers an EPA-estimated range of 318 miles. The xDrive40 reaches 60 mph in 5.1 seconds, with a range of 282 miles. The M50 sprints to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds while maintaining a 271-mile range. The i4 eDrive40 achieves 112 MPGe combined and uses 30 kWh per 100 miles. All models feature a turning circle of 41.0 feet and 4.9 inches of ground clearance. The M50 adds Adaptive M Suspension for enhanced handling dynamics.
